Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family…
We are a family of three, Josh, Rose and Juniper. We have recently moved to Tairua and have begun a new chapter living in the country. Josh and I have an online shop called Dandie store where we sell products we make.
BON is a brand centred around tradition, are there any traditions you grew up with as a child and have they continued through the generations? If not, are there any traditions that you’ve created within your own family unit?
My mum made me clothes growing up and taught me to sew. I love making Juni clothes and would love to teach her how to make her own.
What is one of your favourite memories spent with family members?
My favourite memories spent with my family are from growing up on an orchard, picking fruit together, making huts and having lots of pets.
What has been your favourite thing about becoming a parent?
I love being a parent, I love learning with juniper and learning about her everyday. I love seeing our similarities and also our differences.
What values do you hope to instil in your children?
I want to instil the value and importance of nature. Love and respect for people and animals. I want Juniper to have a strong sense of self so she has the confidence to make her dreams come true.
At BON, we each have treasured items that have been passed down to us through our families, is there a significant family heirloom or keepsake that you’re now in ownership of? What does it mean to you and how does it make you feel?
My engagement ring is a piece from my grandma, she passed away before I was born. I love having her ring and it makes me think of her often and imagine what she was like. The ring is very 70s and I haven’t seen another like it!
What significance does your selected BON charm have to you? What made you choose these pieces for you or your Daughter and what story will it tell?
We chose Juni’s birthstone as her first BON charm. She was born in December, a week before Christmas. A Sagittarius, she loves people and gives everyday her all.
